Movies to look forward to in 2010

by Kelly

As always, there are a lot of movies scheduled for release this year.  Usually avid movie goers, David and I did not do a good job getting out to see movies in 2009.  Hopefully we can do better this year!

Here are 5 movies that are on my “must see” list.  What movies are you looking forward to in 2010?

The Book of Eli (January 15th)

Denzel Washington stars in the post-apocalyptic, “prophet-on-a-mission” tale.  Washington’s character is the protector of a priceless book that may hold the key to humanity’s salvation.

The Wolfman (February 12th)

Benicio Del Toro…as a werewolf…c’mon people, you HAVE to love it!  As I’m sure you can tell by both my movie and book choices, I love fantasy and science fiction so it’s probably no surprise to anyone that knows me that I want to see this movie.

Iron Man 2 (May 7th)

I loved the first Iron Man and I’m a big fan of anything Robert Downey Jr. does so I can’t imagine not loving this movie.  This installment deals with the fall out from Tony Stark announcing to the world at the end of the first movie that he is Iron Man – and of course, righting wrongs and fighting evil villains (this time, Mickey Rourke as Ivan Vanko).

Robin Hood (May 14th)

I have to be honest, I’m not a Russell Crowe fan and there are a number of actors I would have liked to see in this role besides him however, he has some serious acting chops and with Cate Blanchett as his co-star and Ridley Scott directing, I don’t know how this film can be anything but a hit.  Besides, I’ve loved the Robin Hood story since I watched “Rocket Robin Hood” as a kid.

Inception (July 16th)

Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and billed as a science-fiction thriller, it’s about a man (DiCaprio) who uses technology to steal ideas and information from people’s minds that he can then sell for a profit.  Cool – and scary – and cool.

Here are some more releases scheduled for this year:

  • Alice in Wonderland – Johnny Depp
  • The Bounty Hunter – Jennifer Aniston
  • Salt – Angelina Jolie
  • Eat, Pray, Love – Julia Roberts
  • The A-Team – Liam Neeson
  • Clash of the Titans – Liam Neeson
  • The Twilight Saga: Eclipse – Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart
  • Shrek Forever After
  • Wall Street 2 – Michael Douglas
  • Sex and the City 2 – Sarah Jessica Parker & friends
  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Park 1 – Daniel Radcliffe
