Barenaked Ladies, eh?

by Kelly

I love the Barenaked Ladies.  Their lyrics, their music and their personalities all add up to high entertainment in my opinion.  Their songs always make my various music mixes (althought admittedly, I’m a bigger fan of their older stuff).  They are also one of the bands on my list to see live – yep, in the 20 years they’ve been together, I haven’t managed to see them live although I’ve had my box of Kraft Dinner prepped and ready to go for a while.

I saw an interview with Alan Cross that made me realise that the Ladies are going to have a very busy 2010 – and gives me hope that I will finally be able to see them live!  They are coming out with their 11th studio album on March 30th (their first without singer/songwriter Steven Page), they’ll be playing at the Olympics in Vancouver (on February 17th at Village Square), Ed Robertson will be a torch-bearer, they will be playing the Superbowl, they have a Ben & Jerry’s ice cream named after them (If I Had A Million Flavours) and they wrote and perform the theme song to CBS’s successful sitcom, The Big Bang Theory.

Whew, that seems like a big list to me and it doesn’t even include the number of dates they will be playing in support of their new album “All In Good Time” across North America and Europe.  I haven’t seen their tour schedule posted other than their performances out in Vancouver around the Olympics – I can’t wait to confirm the Toronto date!

Here they are practicing one of their new songs for the upcoming tour:
